VICT increase in Infrastructure Surcharge

VICT increase in Infrastructure Surcharge

Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) and the Australian Peak Shippers Association (APSA) yesterday received the below advice from Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) in terms of a further increase in Infrastructure Surcharges effective 1 August 2020.

VICT will be increasing its Infrastructure charge in order to cover the 2020 lease increase.

Effective 1 August 2020, customers are advised that VICT will adjust its Infrastructure charge to $131.03 per container (exclusive of GST). This will apply to full containers, received from or delivered to VICT.

The change to VICT’s Infrastructure charge will provide income only to cover the lease increase, and equates to a direct pss-through of the increased port costs.

VICT delivers a global leading standard in modern technology operations. We deliver a world class service with leading truck turnaround times, continual systems improvements and investments to ensure greater efficiencies for both landside and shipside operations and a convenient receival period underpinned by extended operating hours.

FTA / APSA has overnight made initial contact with VICT executive, the Port of Melbourne, Freight Victoria and the office of the Hon Melissa Horne MP (Minister for Ports and Freight).

Further commentary to follow.

In the interim, please refer to a consolidated table of national Infrastructure Surcharges available HERE (FTA / APSA MEMBER LOGIN REQUIRED)
